Privacy policy

This site publishes public federal records about places. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no comments and no payment forms. This policy explains the small amount of information that is still processed when you visit, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible

Information we collect
You do not give us personal information to use this site. Nothing on it asks for your name, email address, phone number or home address.
Request information. Like every website, the servers that deliver this one receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser’s user-agent string. It is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure, limit abusive traffic and diagnose faults. It is not used to identify you, not combined with any other information, and not sold.
ZIP codes you look up. A ZIP code you search for or compare becomes part of the page address, so it is recorded in the same request information as any other page. It is not linked to you.
Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep your email address and message for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of corrections.
Cookies and browser storage
Your theme choice. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key theme. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Security. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary cookie used only to tell people apart from automated traffic. It is not used for advertising or analytics.
Beyond those, this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and serves no advertising. Its fonts, scripts and images are all served from this domain.
Who receives information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for money.
- Hosting and security providers process request information on our behalf to deliver and protect the site.
- Legal authorities, if we are required to disclose information by law.
Tracking across other websites
We do not track you across other websites, and we do not allow any third party to collect information about your activity on this site for that purpose.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how a website should respond to it. This site does not track visitors, so the signal changes nothing here.
Your choices and rights
You can clear your theme choice at any time in your browser settings. Because we do not hold an account or profile for you, there is usually nothing further to access or delete.
If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have rights to know what personal information a business holds about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising. Whether or not those laws apply to a site of this size, we honour those requests. Email us from the address above; we will reply within 45 days and will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
The site is operated from Sri Lanka and delivered through hosting providers that may process request information in the United States and other countries. By using the site you understand that this information may be processed outside the country where you live.
How long information is kept
Request information is kept only as long as our hosting and security providers retain it to run and protect the service. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to answer it and to keep a record of corrections.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS and holds no personal data in its database. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but there is very little here that could be exposed.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top changes with it, and material changes are recorded with a date in the changelog.
